For the 11th year running, we send our best wishes to the girls from the film studio in the village of Dermantsi, who travelled with their teacher Daniel Simeonov to Germany to present their film "The Prey".
Children from around the world work on the same theme and interpret it in their own 10-minute film — these days they're gathering in Wiesbaden to show their work and meet peers from across the globe.

A frame from their shoot was chosen as the official poster of the event. Students from the project "Cinema, A Hundred Years Young" presented "The Prey" in Wiesbaden as part of the international meeting our school takes part in together with our partners at Arte Urbana Collectif.
From the moment we arrived the experience felt special — during an event in Frankfurt at the Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum we saw that a still from our shoot had been chosen as the main visual for this year's international meeting. A huge recognition of the image, atmosphere and work of the children.
The screening itself was a moment the students won't soon forget. The 5th and 6th graders showed their film to an international audience of participants from England, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Africa, Brazil, Romania and many more countries. Questions, conversations, applause and genuine interest followed.
The film is the result of a whole year of work — exercises, conversations, watching and discussing films, searching for ideas, shooting, editing, sound work and many shared pedagogical experiences. Every effort over the past months was worth it. We'll share the film itself very soon.
